How long do you play
for?
- The Jazz duo play for approx
2 hours starting when your first guests arrive at the hotel
and will only finish when your guests are called for dinner.
- The band will play for up to
3 hours with a 20 minute break. Actual playing time is dependent
on the timings of each particular wedding reception. They
will usually conclude the set at midnight to allow the DJ
to commence.
- The DJ will commence immediately
after the band’s performance and the set is approx 2
hours in length.

Who will answer my queries
and take my booking?
The band members do not deal with
queries themselves; they have a full-time booking co-ordinator,
Niamh Brennan. Niamh is on hand to answer all calls and e-mails
in a timely fashion, right up until your big day!
Do you provide all of the
equipment?
Yes, The Best Men provide all
of the sound and lighting equipment.
How much time is required
to set up?
The band can set-up their equipment
in about 30 minutes.

How do you dress for the
function?
The Best Men dress in a very professional
manner, wearing black trousers, black shirt and a black tie.
How long have the band
been together?
The Best Men have been performing
since 2000 and work full-time as members of the band.
How much is the booking
deposit?
For any 2007/2008 bookings, we
ask for a booking deposit of Euro 200,00 to secure one or all
of the services offered. The deposit remains same regardless
of services confirmed. We accept payment of deposit
by Credit Card, cheque or postal order.
What is the next step after
I pay the deposit?
Once the deposit is received, your
date is blocked from the band’s calendar and a booking
form will be issued to you. The booking form requests all details
for the event.
Have you played in my wedding
venue previously?
In the vast majority of cases,
The Best Men will have played your venue on many previous occasions.
They play weddings nationwide; all year long and to date have
performed in nearly every popular wedding site in Ireland.
Can we choose any first
song we like?
Yes, of course. The Best Men will
play any first song you select. If you like, we can provide
you with a list of most popular first songs. However, they can
play any song you choose. If you prefer, they can also play
a CD through the PA system for the first dance.
Do you use backing tracks?
The band provide a totally LIVE
PERFORMANCE and unlike some bands, they do not use any backing
tracks or tapes during their set. This also means that if a
guest wishes to sing a song that is not already in the set,
the band can endeavour to accompany the singer, regardless of
key or tempo.
Can I dictate the playlist
on the night?
While we certainly welcome any
special requests you may have, it is not possible to make significant
alterations to the main body of the set. Their repertoire encompasses
something for everyone, from the young to the old, and has been
formulated over many hundreds of weddings for maximum success.
From this basis, the band are experts on what works best and
will read the crowd on the night and direct the set appropriately.
However, it is no problem for the
band to learn and perform particular tunes you may have in mind,
and of course, the DJ set can be as tailor-made as you wish.
Can we be sure that the
band will not play too loud?
The band always take the size of
the venue/wedding party into account when setting the volume
level. They also appropriately adjust and maintain their sound
throughout the course of the evening.
